The 1960s generation felt wounded and lost. People sought refuge and healing - including in evangelical Christianity. Bob Dylan, too, was in crisis at the age of 37 after a failed marriage. But his conversion was not entirely sudden: already the '78 album "Street Legal" offers songs that allow for secular and religious readings. Then it's clear: in November 78, a fan throws him a silver cross on stage. The singer takes it. In a hotel room in Arizona, an epiphany occurs that Dylan experiences as the physically tangible presence of God. He speaks publicly about his conversion to Jesus and is baptized.
