Following the controversy caused by Kanye's socio-political views, he rewrote and recorded the entire album in two weeks at his ranch in Wyoming. The record features guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, PartyNextDoor, Kid Cudi and Jeremih. Production was handled by Benny Blanco, Iry Gotti and Che Pope, in addition to Kanye himself. Ye is the second release of a planned five seven-track albums, referred to as the Wyoming Sessions. The album as a whole immediately topped the Billboard 200 chart and each of the tracks reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
