Heritage is the tenth studio album by Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth, released on 20 September 2011 by Roadrunner Records. The album was produced by Mikael Åkerfeldt and mixed by Steven Wilson. It is the first Opeth album to feature keyboardist Joakim Svalberg. Stylistically, the album departs from the band's earlier death metal sound and features a more progressive rock sound.

Swedish progressive pioneers always think one foot ahead. Frontman, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and longtime band member Mikael Åkerfeldt has managed to take a big artistic step forward with his band without sacrificing the spirit of previous albums to do so. "I have become synonymous with Opeth," he says, alluding to his penchant for perfection and the fact that he is responsible for these - conscious - changes.
